Burnet climbs Pyramid.

Ollie and I took a walk along the beach at Cheswick,on the Northumberland coast. On the way back we came through the dunes where we came across a number of pyramid orchids, amongst the many other flowers growing there. One of the orchids had a narrow bordered 5 spot burnet moth feeding on it and while I tried to take some pictures,a second moth appeared.

The other images were taken where we walk down by the River Whiteadder.

About Phil Mclean

Hi, my name is Phil Mclean. I'm a nature photographer living in Berwickshire,in the Scottish Borders.I enjoy photographing all aspects of nature, from the birds and the bees,to the mammals and the trees. I just love being out in the countryside whenever possible and preferably with a camera. Although I do make it difficult for myself,as I'm normally accompanied by my photographic assistant, Ollie,my springer spaniel dog. I hope you'll enjoy the pictures that I post and if you have the time and the inclination, please leave a comment. Thanks.

    Hi Phil,
Met you down by the river today…Im the butterfly guy. Just seen your Burnished Brass photos….incredible! Nice work. Your Burnets are well set off on those Orchids, wish I had, had some time to photograph the Pyramids….just superb. Those Burnets are Narrow Bordered Five Spots, not Six ….which just adds something else to the photos…well done.

    Iain.
